As for northwest China, the sound of camel ring, sunset, Chinese
liquor, desert come into my mind. I visited northwest China in colorful
autumn and the scenery during autumn is very splendid.
Colorful Xinjiang
As the main destination of ancient Silk Road Silk Road tour,
Xinjiang is the world famous "town of dancing and singing" and "town of
melon and fruit". It is very riched in natural resource and biological
species. It is also characterized with travel environment and special
customs. Kanas is the must-see in Xinjiang. Kanas, in Mongolian
language, means "beauty, richness and mistery". Autumn is the best
season to go sightseeing in Kanas. The stunning Kanas Lake is a long
finger lake. Many tourists come hoping for a cameo by Kanas Lake
Monster, China's Nessie, who has long figured in stories around yurt
campfires to scare the kids.
Babaha, natural fairyland, is a small
village of Tuwa and regarded as "first vilage in northwest China".
Entering the village, you will see an old tree stump which writes "I
forget my age" in Chinese.
Hemu is 70km southeast of Kanas Lake.
You can reach Hemu by bus from Bu'erqin but the journey is slow as the
driver stops frequently to run errands for himself and the passengers.
But the whole area is only accessible from mid-May to mid-October.
Magnificent Qinghai
In northwest China, the magnificent scenery in Qinghai China tour deals
should not be missed. Qinghai Lake, located in the northestern Qinghai
Lake Basin, is the largest inland and salt lake. It is also named Lake
Kokonor with elevaion 3,500 meters. Qinghai Lake is also the kingdom of
birds. Bird Island, on the western side of the lake is the breeding
ground for thousands of wild geese, gulls, cormorants, sandpiper,
extremely rare black-neck cranes and other bird species.
Another
must-see in Qinghai is Sun Moon Mountain belonging ranges of Qilian
Mountains with elevation of about 4000 meters. From ancient time, the
Sun Moon Mountain is the strategic passage to Tibet. On the east side of
Mountain are beautiful farmland while on the west is vast grassland on
which cattle and sheep are fed.
So if you are interested in Silk Road, you can consider these two places.
