Learn something about Dongzhai Harbor Mangrove Natural Reserve Area

Dongzhai Harbor Mangrove Natural Reserve Area is the largest and first mangrove natural reserve area in China. So don't miss it during your last minute China travel deals. This mangrove natural reserve area is sprawled in area of 3,337.6 hectares which is located at the north eastern side of Haikou city in Hainan Province. The entire area is full of mangrove trees and the area is a like a typical tropical jungle of trees. Mangrove by definition is a shrub or tree grows in tidal, mainly in tropical locations and coastal swamps with numerous tangled roots that grow above ground and form dense thickets. This is normally medium height. During high tide the mangroves are submerged in the water and only the top portion of the leaves would be visible to the people. The plant has the ability to withstand the salty tidal and grown naturally.

Bird’s habitant:
There are more than 159 different species of birds inhabited in this reserve and also you can see many migratory birds made this area as their transit point. Migratory birds

Travelling to Dongzhai Harbor Mangrove Natural Reserve Area:
After reaching to Hainan Province (must-see for your Holidays in China) by air, road or by train, you will be landing at the capital city Haikou as your first transit. The Mangrove Natural Reserve Area is only 20 kilometers away from the city. You can board regular bus service from Qiongshan Minibus Station and disembark at Yangeng Village. From here take a passenger tricycle, which are easily available and you can reach easily to Dongzhai Harbor. Admission fee to the Natural Reserve Area is CNY 10 per head and the reserve area will be open from 8:00 am to 5:50 pm throughout the day.
